Xavi wants to sell Luuk de Jong in January

Xavi has reportedly decided to remove Barcelona star Luuk de Jong in the January transfer window – and that is before the new boss organized a single training session.

The 41-year-old is expected to return to Camp Nou and replace Ronald Koeman, who was sacked by the Catalan giants last week. Barcelona paid Al Sadd’s Qatari side around € 5million for their services and according to SPORT, Xavi has already decided to let De Jong go in the next transfer window.

The former Newcastle man joined Barca on deadline day following Antoine Griezmann’s transfer to Atletico Madrid. He has scored once in nine games and has been left on the bench for the last two.

Despite this, Koeman said he has qualities superior to Neymar. He said via Marca: “When there’s a cross coming in, Luuk is more dangerous than Neymar. He’s a different striker than we have, and I think all teams should have one like him.”

Barcelona are currently ninth in the La Liga table, with just four wins in 11 games. After last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Deportivo Alaves, Jordi Alba expressed his frustration with the result.

“It’s a bad point, one in nine, a team like Barca needs more. We’re not happy with our position in the table. It’s really hard for us to score goals. We put the pressure on. but we don’t mark, ”he added. he said.

“They didn’t have too many chances but we did. Memphis [Depay] hit the post but the goal did not come in. “
